Going to Cameron Highland has always been one of my vacation destinations but the last time I visited Cameron Highland was like 5 years ago. The reason is that my wife can’t stand the curvy road that made her vomit through out the journey, up and down the hill.

No more curvy road today, after another path via Simpang Balak was built a year or two ago.

The new road is wide, but it’s still curvy compares to Genting Highland road. I had to give up driving and sit at the back with my son, so that my wife gets to drive and this could prevent her from “road-sick”. I’m fine though.

 Place of Interest:

Not much different from the last time I was here in term of place of interest, other than more stores were built at the road side selling strawberries (self plug) and vegetables.

Cactus Valley – The same old Cactus Valley I visited years ago, RM4 per admission for adult, RM2 for children. You can see a lot of cactus and a plantation of vegetables and strawberries on further up the hill. Buying strawberries here is cheaper at RM30/kg than those roadside stores.

Strawberry Farm - I’m not sure about the name, but this is a plantation, not very big, located up a small hill. You don’t get to plug any strawberries, but you can buy strawberries which are freshly packed at a price from RM5 to RM10 depend on sizes. I don’t care if I could plug any strawberries, as long as it’s sweet and big. Not really sweet though L

BOH Tea Plantation – A great place to relax. Buy a pot of local tea at RM6 (for two) and sit at an open deck café, the experience is great!

Butterfly Park – A park to see butterflies, my wife insist on the visit because my son likes butterfly.

 Food:

Basically I don’t come here for food, so I bring my own steamboat cookware, some marinated meats, and some vegetables I bought from Cameron Highland, my dinner is almost perfect, a bottle of Red Wine will make it perfect.

If you really want to eat outside, there are restaurants in either Tanah Rata or Brincang, pick the right one with your instinct. Choose the one with price list published, so you won’t end up complaining on expensive food.
